It's time to hone and tone

I'm very excited over the fact that we are shooting a fitness dvd.  I take classes at LA Fitness and I know that gym can be intimidating, but just focus on what you came for and make it happen!!! I have always been going to a gym since my high school days. It's so important that children understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle.. start them young, so when they get older, going to the gym is not foreign to them. I enjoy working out. It's a great social activity and a healthy one at that!! My goal is to eliminate some of this body fat...  well I guess I should say belly fat!!! Sue, my awesome instructor, is always quick to give tips and advice. She is knowledgeable and her classes are fun... but they are work.. What you put into your workout is what you will get out of it! Now if I could just ween myself from over-indulging in the sweets!! LOL
The above picture was taken on our last Stone Mountain climbing trip..... gotta love my buddies!!!

Michael Jackson

I am sitting here in my hotel room in LA thinking about how tragic Michael's death is. It's funny, because normally the media always wants to report something negative about Michael... now that he is gone, they want to get all sad. And you know what, it is truly sad because he is leaving behind three kids. I just think it's funny now all these people want to play his music non-stop. As a matter of fact, the hotel bar/pool is blasting his music. So it takes a death for people to stop and think about someone? That's what it seems like to me. When they are living, people want to talk about scandals and anything negative. As soon as the person is gone... the scripts are flipped. I'm certain that Michael is in heaven looking down at all of this and laughing. Well thank God for the gifts that Michael gave us. He used his God given talent and shared it with the people. He touched many lives. His music, heart and spirit are his legacy. He will be missed... like he said... "don't stop 'til you get enough"... I guess he had enough... :-( RIP Michael Jackson 6/25/09

A Notorious Blast From The Past

Notorious, the much anticipated movie about rapper, Christopher Wallace, a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G., is set to begin principal photography on March 24, 2008. After the overwhelming response to a year long aggressive and active worldwide search, Jamal Woolard, a Brooklyn native, was selected to portray the infamous rapper. George Tillman Jr. is set to direct." Biggie's mom, Voletta Wallace, is amongst the film's producers and Sean "Diddy" Combs is the executive producer.  The movie will be released in theatres on January 16, 2009.

Diddy...does it again!

On Thursday, October 9th, Diddy threw a party at Velvet Room celebrating 10years of his clothing line. We all know that just the name, Diddy, will draw a crowd, with the hopes of the party goers getting a glimpse of the well-known celeb. So of course I already knew what I was in for. The floor was packed which made it nearly impossible to get from one end of the club to the other. I had a spectacular view of the entire club. I was in the "VIP" section looking down at the sea of faces, I watched as they tried to get Diddy's attention as he was downing a bottle of Ciroc!! LOL! A few local celebs were in attendance (well at least that I could spot!). Gorilla Zoe hit the mic as the crowd and Diddy rocked to "Lost". Jody Breeze was also front and center. I heard that Killer Mike was there as well. I think Diddy stayed for about an hour before he vanished from my eyesight. Should be interesting to see what the upcoming parties for the BET Hip Hop Awards will be like.....

T.I. can have whatever he likes....

Well, it's been over a week and the numbers for T.I. 's latest album, Paper Trail, are in!!!  Paper Trail sold over 568,000 copies! Paper Trail is T.I.'s third consecutive chart-topping entry in 3 years, coming in at #1 on Billboard's top 200. You will be able to catch T.I. at the BET Hip Hop Awards, he's nominated in three categories: "Best Love Performer," "Lyricist of the Year," and "MVP of  the Year."

Out With The Old and In With The New.. Kind Of....

For those of you who listen to Atlanta's Hot 107.9, you may have noticed a few a changes.... The Ricky Smiley morning show promo's... Emperor Searcy's new time slot and of course... Rashan Ali's new time, Middays! She is now up against Porscha Fox on V-103. The good thing is, we will be able to have a variety, if we get tired of one, we can always switch to the other! You are probably wondering....why all of the changes.... I think it's 2 factors: money and ratings... Well.. I guess ratings are equal to dollars...Hmmm.. so maybe it's really one thing. But at any rate... all that does not matter now. I think now we have two talented women, one is more seasoned than the other, but that's ok. Rashan is great and I really love how both of the personalities care about the youth and the community. It will be interesting to hear Rashan on her own... a one woman show.I know she can definitely carry her own. This is just another stop in her life... pretty soon she will be off to bigger things and we will have yet another personality to talk about. In case you didn't know, Rashan Ali's new shift is 10am-2pm. Take a listen, have an open mind and you might just enjoy the new Midday Maiden!
